How nice has the Autumn weather been lately??? I recently travelled all the way out to Wandsworth on a beautiful sunny Autumn afternoon to meet this lovely family. Dora found me on Instagram and contacted me to come out and get some photos of their new little family. Elinor was adorable, such a gorgeous girl with a cheeky grin! 3 months old is such a great age, if you miss photos of the newborn phase, this is the next best thing!!!
Kasey contacted me recently when her regular photographer wasn’t able to fit her in and I’m so glad she did! We met up out at the Pine Forest just as the weather started to turn cool. It was mostly overcast but the sun peeped thru the clouds for a few minutes every now and then and gave us lovely little bits of golden light. I know lots of photographers run a mile at the thought of photographing toddlers, but I absolutely love it! They are so full of energy and mischief, we always have so much fun and Alice was no exception!
It was so nice to see this lovely family again. I haven’t seen them since before little Violet was born, so we had lots of catching up to do. They chose to have an in-home session and I’m so glad they did! We pretty much just let the kids be themselves while I lurked around with my camera in my hand. They are such cuties, so it wasn’t hard to get some gorgeous shots! So many giggles! And I love that Struddy & Sammy were willing to get a few shots of just the two of them together without the kids! These guys also requested lots of black & white images, swoon! Such a gorgeous family & some of my favourite clients xoxo
Love this session and want to book one for your own family?
Several weeks earlier we’d been washed out, so all day long Karla & I text back and forth trying to decide what the weather was going to do. One minute there was brilliant blue sky, the next minute big storm clouds hovered overhead. We made a ‘Plan B’ just in-case the heavens opened right on 5:30pm.
There was a tiny shower as we hopped out of our cars, but we waited it out and were rewarded. Flynn was fantastic despite not having had his nap! He was all smiles and chatted away all through the session. Then, right at the end as we walked back to the cars, sleep overcame him. I couldn’t resist taking one more photo, Flynn all snuggled up in his parents arms. xoxo
As I wake, the storm birds call in the distance. We really need the rain but all I can think is “Not today, please!” I open my eyes and see the sun shining through the blinds. Driving out to the property there is barely a cloud in the sky. Phew.
The door opens and I see two shy little faces peek out from behind their dad’s legs. They are hesitant to smile at a stranger.
Eager to get started we head outside. A few family shots around the house. Still no smiles for the strange lady with the camera. Why is she here?!?
Off the kids go to get their bikes. Now the real fun starts. “Wow, that’s a great bike!” “I like pink too!” “What a cool racing car!” A few smiles start to sneak out. “We’re going to walk to the shearing shed. Can you show me the way?” A few more smiles.
“Can you push me up the hill?” a little voice asks. “Sure” I reply. It’s seems I’m not so strange after all. We head over to visit the new calves. After that it’s a bumpy ride up the hill to the forest.
They squeal and giggle as we play peek-a-boo amongst the tall pines. Lots and lots of smiles. As we sit on the soft pine needles, little fingers play with the beads on my bracelet. “What’s this one?” they ask. “It’s a little baby pram to remind me of my baby boys” I answer. They think for a minute and decide that it looks more like a train. “Choo choo, Choo choo.” they say. And with that their imaginations run wild.
