For months we’d been planning this shoot. We’d picked the location & decided on the best time for sunset shots. Kacie bought a new dress and ordered a beautiful flower crown from Rosemerin. She’d had her hair and makeup done by the team at Revolution by LUXE & Chique Hair Face Body. Then, just as we arrived, the storm of the century started brewing. We thought for sure it would just blow over like they all have been lately. But, no it got darker and darker, and muggier and muggier. Then came the wind. Big gusts of wind. It kept blowing Kacie’s hair all over the place and blew her gorgeous flower crown off several times. As the lightning started to strike(I’m not kidding!) and it started to rain big, fat spots of summer rain, we ran back to the cars. Kacie was such a trooper even though we didn’t get the sunset shots we were hoping for. In fact, the photos are a lot ‘moodier’ than what I normally shoot, but at 36 weeks I think she rocked this session and I’m totally in love with the results!
Leah’s sister arranged this Maternity Session for her all the way from Queensland, how nice is that? The weather was the perfect. Just the right mix of sunny but not too hot, and fresh but not too cold. We met out at Gostwyck just before sunset on a Friday evening and had a few laughs together. I love that these guys are waiting until their baby is born to find out what they are having. Boy or girl – what do you think?
Five years ago Maria went on an adventure. She travelled all the way to Australia from Spain and ended up in Murrurundi. She wondered who she would possibly meet in such a teeny tiny town.
She met Bryan. They fell in love and were married. Now, they’re on the cusp of a new adventure. Together.
“Is this your photo shoot or mummy’s Sybella?” asked Dan. “Umm. It’s mine.” said Sybella. Yep, it certainly was! She stole the show with her sweet smile and her chatter about the colourful feathers & the Autumn leaves we collected during the session. And we still managed to get some beautiful photos of Holli’s gorgeous bump too! Enjoy!
Saying It’s been a busy year is an understatement. It’s been a huge, enormous, gigantic, hectic year. I’ve met and photographed some amazing families over the last 12 months(some of them more than once). And I can’t wait to do it all again next year.
Are you expecting? Has it been a while since your last family photo? Have you booked your session? I’d love to meet you in 2014!
Here are some of my favourite shots from 2013. Enjoy!
