Playful Orchard Family Photography | Colyvas Family

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve photographed this family but lets just say, I’ve known their girls since they were babies. And yet, I still get excited every time they get in touch to book more family photos!!

I’m a firm believer that your ‘vibe’ attracts your ‘tribe’, and this family is proof of that.  They totally trust me to pick the location and time.  And they know that I love ‘dad’ jokes and am a bit wacky, and yet they don’t seem to mind a bit 😀

The girls are adorable, and Mitch & Jocelyn are, well, gorgeous!  I was so excited to get permission to shoot at this beautiful orchard because I knew it would be just perfect!  Enjoy! And don’t forget to leave this lovely family a bit of love in the comments if you enjoyed their photos <3

This family were ah-dooooor-able!  No, really!  Any time little Henry needed attention, his big brother & sister fussed over him, cuddled him, and played with him.  It was gorgeous to see siblings that clearly love each other so much.  And even though this session was about having the whole family together, I think you’ll agree that little Henry stole the show…

When Kara contacted me to organise this session as a present for her hubby Oliver, I was so excited!  I mean, getting to photograph little Alyssa gain?  Yes, please!  We had fun with lots of snuggles and giggles, and we even found an anthill to poke with a stick!

Fergus : Cosy In-Home Newborn Session : Yarrowitch

Being asked back into a Client’s home photograph another baby is such a privilege, one that I never take for granted.  I photographed big sister Flo when she was only a few days old and getting to meet her new little brother Fergus when he was brand new too was so special!  I’m sure that these two will be best mates in no time at all.

Welcome!  Thank you for following our 2016 International PBAP blog-circle!   Below are 5 inspiring stories from breastfeeding mums in the New England area.   When you reach the end of these mums stories you will find a link to the next photographer in the blog-circle.  Enjoy!!!

Catherine & Hazel(2 years) & Clara(4 months)

I participated in the PBAP sessions last year and I wanted to participate again to record the next stage of our breastfeeding journey.

“Now I am feeding my toddler and my new baby.”

“I have a strong belief in breastfeeding and the importance of being comfortable feeding my children wherever and whenever necessary.”

Not only do I feel that these sessions are important to promote breastfeeding, they also provide mums with a lovely momento of this precious time.
Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is bestMy session was nice & relaxed, and my girls and I had a fun morning.  Leanda and the bookstore owner were both so lovely too. I would recommend a breastfeeding session to other mums.

“No woman should feel shame when breastfeeding.”

“Breastfeeding is the most beautifully natural thing we can do as mothers.  But, it took me about 6 weeks before I was comfortable breastfeeding.  From that point on though, I was comfortable to feed anywhere, even when I received disapproving stares.Armidale Bottle Feeding Photographer, Armdidale Breastfeeding Photographer, Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project, PBAP, Fed is Best

“I’m so happy to have these images as a memory of this precious time in Oscars life.”

I loved my PBAP session!  It felt so free, comfortable, and natural.  I would definitely recommend a breastfeeding session to other new mums.”Armidale Bottle Feeding Photographer, Armdidale Breastfeeding Photographer, Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project, PBAP, Fed is Best

Kellie & Phoebe (14 months)

“When I first started breastfeeding I would always cover up & worry that I was offending someone.”

Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is bestThen I met a wonderful lady who happily fed her bub without worrying what people thought.  That’s all I needed, a little push to not be afraid to feed my baby in public.  Phoebe is now 14 months old and I am continuing to breastfeed in public.

“Adults drink in public, so our babies should be allowed to as well!”

Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is bestI loved everything about my PBAP session!  Meeting other lovely mummas, chatting to Leanda the photographer(who is also a lovely mumma), and most of all enjoying the support.

“Breastfeeding can be overwhelming but when you have the support from other mummas it makes a world of difference!”

Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is bestBreastfeeding is wonderful and those who are able should embrace it.  It gives you a connection to your children like no other.

I’ve heard so much negativity towards breastfeeding in public so I wanted to show my support by participating in a PBAP session and I would definitely recommend it to other mummas.  Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is best

Normalise Breastfeeding

Erin & Bridie(4months)

“I haven’t always felt comfortable breastfeeding in public.  At times I would find it embarrassing, awkward, or isolating.

“Often, with my first baby I would avoid feeding in public altogether.  However, I quickly realised that this was not best for me or my baby.”

But, the more I feed in public, the more confident I feel.

I love being able to provide my baby with perfect milk that my body made especially for her.  I love the closeness I feel to her while feeding, and her milky smiles & full tummy after a feed.  It feels natural, easy & beautiful but it has been really hard at times too.

Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is best

“I believe most women want to breastfeed their babies but many don’t because it can be really, really hard at times.”

Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is best

I am proud that I can breastfeed my baby.  It is empowering knowing that I can meet my baby’s nutritional needs wherever I go.  I also know that my public feeding will support other women to feel confident to do the same.Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is best

One of my favourite things about feeding my baby in public is the knowing smiles & supportive glances of other mothers or women passing by.

“I have always loved this quote by Pamela K Wiggins: “Breastfeeding is a mother’s gift to herself, her baby and the earth.””

Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project 2016, normalise breastfeeding in public, stop the mummy wars, fed is best

I wanted to participate in the Public Breastfeeding Awareness Project to show my support to all women in their ability and right to breastfeed their babies.  I loved sharing this experience with like minded women and am so happy to have these images as a record of my precious time breastfeeding my baby.”
